Here comes Red Riding Hood!

No, it's not Halloween in June, but I still love dressing up in character when given the opportunity. Dilly Dolls has created an entire outfit from head to toe called Red Riding Hood II that includes a hood, cloak, basket, socks, Mary Jane shoes, and dress with sleeves and layered skirt.

I love how Dilly Dolls has made an character from a childhood story come to life with more of a gothic twist. Dilly Dolls has once again done a fantastic job with the detailing of textured layers of the skirt and even adding lace to the sleeves.

I also thought it was a great idea that Dilly Dolls also sells hair called Riding Hood II to go with the outfit. I didn't have to edit the hair a bit when putting it on and has a wonderful script that changes the hair color. If you want to get rid of the script in the hair, there is an option to do that as well. *DD* has really thought of every option when it comes to this hair.

*DD* has also come out with a few new lines of skin. In all of the pictures above, I'm wearing Fiona in Copper. I love the skin and hair in this picture! Below is the spectrum of Fiona skins (Harvest, Copper, Cherry, Winter, Paste).

Here are other skins created by *DD*. They are Janna, Feather, and Lorainne. I think Janna is super cute and hope to find an outfit to match the vibrant hues to match the makeup! I'm also wearing *DD* Prim Dolly Lashes which are great because they don't mess up with transparency issues like other lashes can. You can edit each individual lash to ensure the perfect fit!

Just a reminder to all those fri.day lovers: The big summer sale ends today!

I am in love with my streaks, and feel its become a signature style of mine, and added them to this hair. I'm also wearing a shirt a friend, JoJo Corvale made. You can pick one of her awesome shirts up at her store, SCHWING, for L$35. NOTE: I did raise my jacket length up to 53 to correct some of the bottom edges.

I'm also totally digging the new Orange Button Capri by Cynful! They come in both high and low versions! These are definitely going to be my go-to capri this summer.

League With the Perfect Henna Tattoos.

So the Black & Blue Fair succesfully made it through its first weekend and crazy Monday! This fair is great place to get some exclusive fashion picks and encourages awareness and acceptance of mental health issues. Many of us have or know someone that has dealt with a mental illness at some point. This fair is a great opportunity to start discussions about mental illness and how it's more common than you think in SL.

The Hitch dress from League should not be missed at the fair. If you're a fan of League, you'll be a definite fan of this dress. I couldn't figure out what shoes to wear with the dress (boots just felt wrong as hot as it feels in RL just now), so I ended up with my UBU PornStars.

I also paired up the Hitch dress with a tattoo from [HUZ] by Hunain Bellic. Henna Secret is the name of this tattoo and comes in every clothing layer imaginable. I prefer the softer lines of the faded versions but it also comes in three other variations when you buy it.

I think Hunain has done a great job of matching up the seams with his tattoos and I love how the tattoo i'm wearing complements the outfit versus overpowering it. BTW, Hunain is a long-time friend of mine and he's single (and cute!). So.. if you're looking.... he's looking, too.. so get in touch with him!

A new spin on tattoos - Aiden's Closet

I received a request to review a new store showcasing tattoos. I didn't have much to go on (a note card and Slurl), but I figured I'd give them a shot because I had been wanting to feature some tattoos on my blog. Usually if I wear tattoos, I wear small ones on my upper shoulder or on the leg. Aiden's Closet is a newer tattoo shop with unique, written designs worn on the undershirt layer.

Some of the tattoos were sweet, others were quite biting. Only L$35 for most tattoos, you just can't beat the price and it's worth it to pick up a few to change out depending on your mood. My favorite is a "Be nice or go away" tattoo, as it's how I've felt when standing in some of the welcome areas. Here's one of my favorite tattoos. I really like her unique style and hope you do too!

Fighting Back.

I hate those that copy and steal the works of others.

I wanted to let you know that while sitting in the Violet Welcome Area, I was being copied by an avatar (1 day old) by the name of Mix Maven. I was was just staring out into the welcome area, and Mix started changing into me. Their shape (my own custom shape) changed to mine, as well as the outfit and everything I was wearing.

I let the creators and Linden Labs (through an AR) know. :-( I'm so very sorry.

Dilly Dolls @ Black & Blue Fair

One of the major benefits to attending the Black & Blue fair is the ability to be introduced to brands you may not have seen before. Dilly Dolls is another new brand to me, but is a style that I love to dress in on Second Life. I love babydoll dresses, even more so when the textures are rich and fits well with minimal adjusting. The Corrin Dress (L$100) in black and blue does just that. Dilly Dolls has a more ornate babydoll dress at the fair by the name of Evan for also L$100 for the black and blue versions.

I also discovered ploom (formally Deviant Kitties) the other day. I think many of the new hairs are super cute and Anamone (shown in Silver) is no exception. I wish the hair bobble thingies were a bit smaller, but it didn't stop me from buying and wearing the hair! Btw, you can change the hair bobble color.

I'm also wearing the Danielle boots with my dress. I love the straps that tie around the front and back of the boots and are tied off in a skull adorned bow. These just may be my new "go to" boots when wearing my more gothy/emoish outfits.

They also come in white. You can find these as well at the Black & Blue Fair for L$175.

Through the tears...

I've been working on blog posts for the Black & Blue Fair and for other items I've picked up the last few weeks, but I'm short on words, critiques, and adjectives. A friend that both Solanar and I met through Second Life (and then continued our friendship through facebook) has passed away from brain cancer. Tawney was a beautiful person, SL and RL. Her passing was too sudden and I'm blown away in that just two days ago she was playing a silly game on FB, and now she's gone...

I'm so excited about the upcoming Black & Blue Fair. This is my first organized event or fair that I've participated in as a blogger, and I am so impressed.

This fair has meaning, which seems to get lost in other fairs or events I've been to. From the information designers may be including in their items to the writing on the wall, the message is clear. Just a few more hours until you can check it out for yourself. All the items (including the skin) are available from the fair. I hope to see you there!

Preview at the Black & Blue Fair!

So, where are you going to be shopping in Second Life on June 4th? Hopefully you'll take the chance and go shopping and learn more about the cause that the Black & Blue Fair is hoping to support. There are sooo many designers and the quality is top notch! The prices for items run the spectrum from 0$L on up! Everything on sale shares the Black & Blue theme.

I'm going to review the outfit above in a post coming this week, but for now I want you to know it comes from Mehndi. I <3 the style! I'm so glad I found this brand at the Black & Blue Fair. I love how the clothing is being shown off on racks, and bookcases, walls, makeup counters,etc. There's something for everyone, including the boys! Solanar will be blogging this week about some of the male fashions there. For now, here's a picture of the shirts and hoodies available from Intrigue Co.

None of this would be possible without the hard work by Keira Seerose. I'm so glad to be a small part of this.

Feeling a bit vintage...

This vintage dress from The Sea Hole is a sweet surprise after a long day of sim-hopping/shopping. This dress has sequins lined up on the skirt and top, but with muted tones. I'm wearing the Starburst Vintage in Hardly Pink.

If you're looking for an old lace/sequins kind of dress, this is for you. They also have a muted blue and off-white versions as well. I loved the sculpty bottom petals that make up the skirt. The dress has a very art deco feel to it.

The dress comes with a hair bow and I moved it down a bit lower to work in beautifully with my new fri.day hair (Anna). While I love Truth hairs (<3 Nadia), I am really starting to like fri.day hairs. Here's a closeup of the hair with the bow attached.

I'm trying out different eyelashes too, and love that this pair of lashes from Glam Affair are tintable. You'll be seeing much more of these lashes on my blog!

By the way, the new sandals you'll be seeing in my pictures are from SLink. They are called Mikaela and I love all the options! Here's a picture of some of my favorite options. You can also customize it for socks, hosiery, and metal parts. If you're going to spend money on a pair of great heels or sandals, definitely try out SLink. They are worth every linden and are a great deal for the price.

Black & Blue Fair - Coming Soon!

Sol and I may have a small blog, but we want to help get the word out about the upcoming Black & Blue Fair. The Fair will run from June 4th - July 3rd and will showcase a lot of great designers which are contributing to the fair to help raise awareness and destigmatize mental health issues.

I think this fair is a great idea for many reasons. First and foremost, many of us (if not all of us) know of someone close to them that are affected with mental health issues (large and small). I have dealt with depression myself before, and the support I received from my friends and family was amazing. I hope that in Second Life, we try to take the time to really listen to others who are talking, because they may not have a strong support system in RL.

Anywho, there will be a load of designers lending their talents to this fair, so please come out and support them starting June 4th. If you'd like more information, click one of the teaser images above.

A random find!

I went around looking on various sims last week and as I was about to give up, I found little store called Stitch by Stitch by Sevenstar Amat. She's from Germany and is quite an eclectic SL fashion designer. I really liked her styling, although her Adrianna dress stood out to me because of the trim of the skirt.

I thought the colors were a nice change for me, and even though it may fit better for the late summer/early fall season, it screamed "BUY ME!". I've also been playing with my Nadia hair and streaking just the front pieces.

By the way, I've said it once, and I'll say it again, but the little touches me a lot to me in an outfit, and Stich by Stich hit the mark by adding accessories for the hair and back. There's even a bow on the front of the skirt. I had to adjust the skirt up some to work on my shorter frame, and I think it works well with the Hoorenbeek Siren Boots (which were a group freebie). It almost made me feel like I should have an old acoustic guitar on my back.

PS: I can't find a working link to an in-world store for SbS, so I'm giving you the next best thing...

Nothing Like a Hot Day to Feel Cynful!

Okay, so it's hot here.. When it hits the upper 80s here, I wear little dresses that are casual around the house. So imagine my surprise when I received my very first blogger folder of new releases!! I'm so excited to blog about [Cynful] items because I truly love the way their clothes are designed. I fell in love with the Gracieness shirt and couldn't wait to put on the newest items from [Cynful]!

I've decided to start with the two new dress releases from [Cynful]. The first one is the Gracieness Dress which has one of the best necklines I've seen in SL fashion. I'm wearing it with both the black and white neckholders (although this dress can be worn without the neckholder altogether.) The dress if available in 20 different colors and I happen to be wearing it in coral.

I also tried out the Summery Dress which is a great dress with 4 different wear options. Those options are the lace at the bottom and back of the dress. I think I'd prefer to wear it plainly during the day and at night I'd switch to one of the lace backs. This dress comes in 12 different colors is available at their new main store on Ooot Ooot.

I'm nosey in SL and I love to pixel perv people (mostly in Violet.. so beware) and think this dress would be the perfect dress to surprise someone with it's sauciness if they see the back side of you. I think there are quite a few avatars that only dress for their front sides, and often leave their backsides neglected. This is one dress that hits the mark!

Oh So Bohemian!

I ran into someone while looking at different shops who had the perfect bohemian skirt on. I just had to have it! It's from T&A Designs and it has the perfect textures and layers to make the skirt flow and turn beautifully. One perk of this skirt is that you actually buy it as an entire outfit set and it comes with earrings, tops, and pants. A lot of different options came with it but I really wanted to purchase it just for the skirt. If you want to buy an all in one outfit set, this is definitely the way to go. I had a lot of fun playing with it while visiting Enter...The Show on the Erato of Caerleon sim.

Here I used tips provided by Gorgeous Yongho to work on the sky editor and put my own touch to it by adding shades of pink and purple... Thank you Gogo for posting these updated windlight specs!

Here's the skirt without in a normal standing position just in case you're interested. One of the great things about the skirt is that the attachments are at the waist, and both hips.

Riddle & Hair SOS!

On my way to miel last night, I wandered into Riddle. This store has a lot of cute clothing, but the piece I decided to go with was the Candy Kisses Dress in Lime. I usually never wear clothing in green (especially lime) or yellow, but this dress had the pink trim to help make the dress pop on me. Riddle has this dress in many other color combinations, and it reminds me of spring and candy all mixed together. A great feature to this dress is that it comes with both a sculpty and flexi version of the skirts. I opted with the sculpted version and really appreciate the detailing of it on the inside. NOTE: I adjusted my butt size to 0 so it didn't poke through the sculpty. Be sure to make a copy of your original shape before doing this!

While modeling for this dress, I had a fun time playing with the surprise look. I used ENP's Mock Shock Pose. (I just tried to find a lm/slurl to ENP and can't find the store anymore...is it still out there in SL under another name?) I also copied my eyelashes and adjusted the tops and bottoms to fit the wide eye look. Here's a head shot of the look. I don't know if it was because I was taking these pictures so late at night, but I was just cracking myself up over them.

While I'm new at posting, I'm in a Truth hair rut. I LOVE Truth hair, but know that I need to branch out and try new designers. Anyone (including hair designers themselves) have any suggestions of new hair or styles out that rival my favorite Nadia from Truth?

A New Store for Grace... MIEL

I don't know much about the store miel, or the designers that have created this cute line of clothes. If you like prim clothing, this is definitely a place to try. I will definitely be checking back in with this shop for more fashion finds. I love how adventurous and skilled they are with prims.

Here I have on the Mo Tube Top (L$175) in toffee. This tank has both long and short versions with many types of layers, include a prim fold. This top also comes in fiesta(pinks/blues), grasshopper (greens/yellows), lapis (greens/blues), sand (beige/tans), and sunset (reds/tans). The lines on the side match up pretty well, so well that I didn't even think to look carefully at the seams. Most designers stay away from trying to match up so many lines, and I think Miel did a great job of tackling this issue.

These pants are also by mie l and are called Mo Linen Pocket Pants, shown in Pebble (L$225). These have sculpted prim pockets, belt and cuffs. I love the button and flexi string details. You'll notice in the pictures that I have taken off the lower flexi string prims in the picture above, and show them in the picture below. These pants also come in various muted shades of breeze, coal, driftwood, kelp, and sand. On the image in the store which is above the pants, it warns that these pants are super low rise. I didn't have an issue with this as the jacket version of shirts work perfectly with the pants.

I came across this little store completely by accident and I'm very glad I did. I was looking for a polo shirt for myself and i found this wondrous piece of clothing.

The two things that set this polo apart from the rest is the double collared design, which is fantastic in delivering a very textile and unique look the equally amazing are the sleeves they are superbly simple yet take a huge step away from the flat shirts of yesterday.

I would recommend this store to anyone with some spare dosh, great selection of Black polo with different undershirts as well as a white polo with the same undershirt selection. I know how frustrating it can be not knowing what you see in the picture so I have listed everything visible.

Studying Hard...

Graceful Sun is a new blog and we have so many ideas. Trying to get it up and running is quite a bit of work. I've been studying other blogs, getting tips and hints a plenty, and eager to start blogging some of the fashions in SL that I think are great additions to anyone's collection.

I wandered into Pig the other week and love the Sing Sing Cardigan with Bow. This speaks to my preppy and sweet style while still adding a bit of sass. The texturing is wonderful and think the added prim cuffs and bow add so much to the cardigan. The bow took a few minutes to adjust into the right spot as it attaches to the right shoulder. Some of the stretched arm poses don't work so well with the bow, but I find it a great touch.

I'm also wearing the Hucci Low Rise Linen Shorts and Kalnins Morning Dew Shoes. I think the pants are wonderful drawn as shown here. I don't like when I go into a store and love the front of the garment, but the back or sides are much to be desired. Hucci did an excellent job with the shorts. I'll be stopping by again!

I had a hard time finding shoes that were still heels, but casual with the toenails showing through. Kalnins came closes to what I was going for and I think the detailing in the leather straps are wonderful. The shoe HUD lets you choose between different color materials and presets for each of the shoe materials. These shoes do not work with the No Feet mask in viewer 2.0 so I still had to wear the invisiprims. I'd love for the invisiprims (if you can't use the mask), would be a bit more contoured.

Oh How Ayumi!

I love Ayumi! I've been scared of trying out mini skirts and dresses for some time. The little prim skirt piece some designer give out with their tiny ensembles leaves much to be desired with a curvier shape. I still have dresses that gave your a prim brick to put between your legs to help with the skirt.

Ayumi convinced me to try one of her dresses. I loved the zebra print on the Kitsch dress, and when i tried it on, I only had to edit the prim piece a tiny bit! Because of my shorter height, I just had to move it up a tad bit.

I Decided to start this blog in tandem with my wife due to there being a lack of male fashion blog or rather one that I could relate to, and this was born. I hope to bring my tastes likes and dislikes to this blog and maybe just a little bit of entertainment too.

Meet Grace Bashly!

Hi there! I hope this blog really gets going. I'm very excited about working on it with Sol. I've been in Second Life for about two and a half years. I love visiting SL, and spending times with friends and playing changing my clothes frequently. I created my own shape, and tend to be on the shorter, curvier spectrum of shapes. Anywho, I here's a picture and my first mini-review!

I love Truth Hair. The store has grown over the years. I had a lot of red versions of hair, and loved modifying the shade of red until it was perfect! I'm now stuck on the Nadia style love the black and white versions. I edit just a few of the front strands of hair to accent my current outfit.

I'm also loving a new find for casual/sexy clothing at [Cynful]. I love this style of shirt because I can see myself wearing this in RL (although maybe a tad bit more modest!). It's called Graciness which is an added bonus as it is my namesake. The shirts also come with both a black and white versions of a what they call a neckholder. *lol* I can actually see these being useful with other low cut shirts to cover up the bits and pieces.
